Hazel’s Expedited Freight Acquires RSK Transport

Dallas, TX – Hazel’s Expedited Freight, the Carrollton-based expedited freight and logistics company has acquired the stock and all business operations of Corpus Christi-based RSK Transport, LLC.

Hazel’s is one of the largest independent expedited freight carriers in Texas specializing in time-critical deliveries for businesses. With the addition of RSK, Hazel’s expands its geographic reach in South Texas and expands its equipment base in the “heavy haul” market. By bringing RSK into the Hazel’s Family, the combined entity will be able to offer its customers access to a wide range of equipment including everything from Pickup Trucks and Cargo Vans to Stake Beds, Box Trucks, and Gooseneck Trailers to Tractors with Flatbeds, Dry Vans, Landolls, and RGNs via terminals in Dallas, Houston, Austin, San
Antonio, and Corpus Christi.

Hazel’s CEO, and Dallas ISD School Board Trustee, Dustin Marshall said, “At Hazel’s, we are always
looking to grow our team of dedicated professionals, and RSK gives us the opportunity to do so while we expand the depth of our expertise in the heavy haul market. The addition of RSK’s drivers, customers, office staff, and equipment immediately gives us the ability to compete aggressively with any other expedited freight carrier in Texas.”

Ryland Kirchoff, the owner of RSK Transport, will continue as a Sales Leader with Hazel’s going forward, and his entire Management Team and Office Staff will be integrated into Hazel’s operations. Kirchoff shared his thoughts on the acquisition, “It was important to me that our customers and our employees were well taken care of when I decided to merge with another freight carrier – and, I’m confident that the Hazel’s team will continue our commitment to customer service while also bringing additional technology, process and management expertise to improve efficiency.” Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
